Health & Safety Courses

This 1-day introductory course for health and safety is for people who are new to the construction and civil engineering industries. It teaches you the main health and safety issues on construction sites and how these affect your role.

This five-day Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff within a construction environment. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce. The SMSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

The two day CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is one of the most popular management training courses for site supervisors within the construction industry. This SSSTS training course is suitable for team leaders, foreman, gangers and anyone who has supervisory responsibilities on a construction site.

This course is delivery by our team of qualified tutors.

  • Delegates must attend all the days. Failure to complete the full course will result in them failing and, as a result, they will not receive a certificate.
  • If a delegate is indisposed, in extenuating circumstances (such as bereavement or certified illness), the delegate may enrol on a new course, advice should be sought from CITB before proceeding.

Additional Information

  • All courses will be delivered in English in accordance with scheme rules.
  • Delegates must, therefore, be competent in English at the level required to do their job before their course commences.
  • Interpreters and translators are not permitted for any part of the course qualification or examination.
  • Lunch is provided.

The Site management safety training scheme – Refresher (SMSTS-R) course is for delegates who have previously passed the full Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course, and can provide proof of attendance. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics, and builds upon the previous five-day course programme.

This one-day refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics which have been affected by changes to procedures, and builds upon the material in the original course.

This one day training course provides delegates with a broad insight to the topic of Temporary Works, including an understanding of the essentials of good safety risk management.

This 1-day course will provide you with thorough knowledge of the role of a Temporary Works Supervisor, including a sound understanding of the risk management of temporary works.

It is suitable for people with experience of being responsible for temporary works.

It is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage with contractors.

The course will provide candidates with a thorough knowledge of the role of a temporary works coordinator This course can be booked by employers to train groups of workers. You can have between 6 and 16 people on a course.

We deliver the course at your work premises or at a venue you choose.

This one-day interactive course has been designed for company directors and senior managers active in a health and safety strategic role In the built environment, with the aim of recognising directors’ duties of care and the implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation.

The course will provide a summary of how to promote a positive organisational culture for health and safety. Group exercises throughout the day will give delegates the opportunity to discuss their thoughts about health and safety and their responsibilities in an open forum.

The DRHS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all senior managers and company directors.
