Before applying to the Construction College Midlands. If you make an Apprenticeship application to the Skills Funding Agency, please be aware that only applicants aged between 16-18 who have not been placed on a training scheme before can be guaranteed full funding for their Apprenticeship. Employers must be aware that they may have to make a contribution towards the Apprenticeship, if the application is for those aged 16-18 who have had training before, or for those aged over 18.
Digital Apprenticeship Service
From January 2020 the Government have changed the way apprenticeship training is paid for. Smaller employers that don’t pay in to the apprenticeship levy will be able to access the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) system enabling them to select an apprenticeship standard, choose their training provider and secure access to funding for all new apprenticeships. Employers will be required to reserve funds via DAS before an apprenticeship can commence.
- Employers can reserve funding for apprenticeship standards only (Employers seeking to arrange training for apprenticeship frameworks, which will be withdrawn as of August 2020, should do so via providers with existing training contracts)
- Employers may make reservations for up to three apprenticeship starts.
- Employers can only reserve funding for up to 3 months, and reservations will expire if an apprenticeship hasn’t commenced it that time
The Business Solutions Team at NCC Midlands will be able to provide advice and support to guide you through the new funding system.
