Two day SUDS and Permeable Paving Practical

Day 1 – SUDS

During Day 1, you will learn about the different components of SUDS and their roles in controlling run-off processes. The following components will be covered:
• Green Roofs
• Soakaways
• Infiltration Basins
• Pervious Surfaces
• Filter Drains
• Swales
In addition, you will learn how to design and implement SUDS systems to meet hydraulic and loading requirements. At the end of Day 1, you will have a solid understanding of how SUDS works and how to design and install different SUDS components.

Day 2 – Permeable Paving Practical Exercise

Participate in a practical exercise where you will design and lay permeable paving structures. You will learn how to lay and compact permeable aggregates, sub-base courses, and surface screeds. You will also learn about different permeable paving systems, pavement layers, sloping sites, underground services, and flow control devices.
The practical exercise will involve designing and laying a Type A system.

By the end of this course, you will have a thorough understanding of sustainable urban drainage systems and permeable paving. You will have gained practical skills and experience to design, install, and maintain these systems.
