Construction, building and levelling and setting out skills support the industry from the ground up. We specialise in a range of courses to give construction workers recognised qualifications. At Construction College Midlands we deliver training in construction and specialist trades and we also run successful apprenticeships covering these areas.

Our training facilities provide conditions which aim to replicate construction sites as closely as possible, so you can be confident that the skills practised can be put straight to use on your site. You will use state-of-the-art and traditional equipment.

NVQ Assessments

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations – Roof Slater and Tiler will allow you to to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so that you can work as a Roof Slater and Tiler. The learner will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area (Recommended Qualification Structure for Roofing Occupations (Construction) Level 2).

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations – Roof Slater and Tiler will allow you to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so that you can work in a Roof Slater and Tiler environment. The learner will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area.

This qualification/pathway enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Specialist Concrete Occupations -In Situ Flooring (Concrete Finisher) within the construction industry.

Further training and/or experience could enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace. Industry will accept the qualification/pathway on its own as entry to a job role.

You will obtain a Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card on completion of this course. This course is delivered remotely with flexible start dates. One day is required on location.

On completion of the NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Concrete Occupations (Construction) – In Situ Flooring – Concrete Plant Operator qualification/pathway you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area. Further training and/or experience could enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace. Industry will accept the qualification/pathway on its own as entry to a job role.

You will obtain a Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card on completion of this course. This course is delivered remotely with flexible start dates. One day is required on location.

This qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction) qualification enables you to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment within the construction industry. This qualification supports you to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

On completion of this course you will gain a Gold Supervisory Card (once you’ve passed the Supervisors Health Safety and Environment CSCS Test).

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision – Building and Civil Engineering qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

This qualification enables you to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Building and Civil Engineering within the construction industry.

On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace. Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

This qualification is supported by federation – Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA). On completion of this course you will gain a Gold Supervisory Card (once you’ve passed the Supervisors Health Safety and Environment CSCS Test).

The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management -General qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace.

The purpose of this qualification is to assess the competence of occupational health and safety practitioners. It is aimed at those who have responsibility for the development, implementation and review of health and safety procedures within an organisation.

This qualification is for those who are working in occupational health and safety practitioner roles within an organisation.

The Pearson Edexcel Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management is for learners who work in, or who want to work in, a senior management role in the construction sector.

The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:

  • develop the technical skills, role-related knowledge and understanding, and behaviours required to work in a wide range of construction senior management roles, including construction manager, construction supervisor, production manager, commercial manager, operations director of a small company, property and facilities manager and specialist construction manager. These skills and knowledge are also applicable to construction project manager roles
  • demonstrate competence in the relevant job roles
  • have existing skills recognised
  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 7 qualification.
