CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS)

To provide a nationally recognised training qualification for scaffold inspection, CISRS developed two scaffold inspection courses in May 2010. These courses, Basic and Advanced Scaffold Inspection courses were amended in 2014 to reflect the introduction of TG20:13.

Delegate entry criteria for these courses can be found below or in the CAP609E document. A copy of this document can be requested at enquiries@cisrs.org.uk

Delegates must meet one of the following entry criteria

• Hold a current CISRS Scaffolder card
• Hold a current CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card
• Hold a current CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor card
• Hold a current or expired CISRS Basic Inspection card, and is attending the course to renew their card

Delegates who do not hold an eligible CISRS card will have to submit a CV with contactable references to demonstrate experience of scaffolding structures gained within their current role, over the last 2 years.

• CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS) certificate
• The college will apply on your behalf for a CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Card.

Teaching and assessment

• Teaching is a mix of classroom-based theory, practical exercises and computer-based training.
• You will be required to successfully complete the Practical Inspection and Report Writing Assessment as well as the Theory test in order to pass the course.
