The selection process will include an Initial Assessment and an interview, during which the apprentices suitability, commitment and interest for the programme will be determined. Apprentices will also need the following: GCSE A-E /initial assessment entry 3 and above /working in industry/ interview & skill scan.
Employers will need to demonstrate that they have the necessary Health and Safety arrangements in place to satisfy legislative requirements, and that they are able to provide apprentices with the full range of work to successfully complete the Apprenticeship Standard.
The apprentice will be recognised by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) providing Associate Membership for the apprentice whilst studying.
On-programme (typically 12 months)
End Point Assessment Gateway
Judgement on whether the apprentice is ready for the end-point assessment is taken by the employer, who should gather views from the training provider and the apprentice to inform this decision.
End Point Assessment
Cost: No cost to the apprentice. An employer contribution may be required. Adults may be eligible for FREE tuition. (No VAT charged)
Duration: Typically 24 months plus EPA
